My years in college? A crazy mix of working awfully hard, growing personally, and showing nothing but grit. Like so many of us, there were moments when all of those assignments felt like too much, when I couldn't see how I was ever going to balance classes, a job, and life, and when I was filled with doubt about what I was doing. But I was building my future, and I was somehow exceeding my own expectations. That's what got me through. A major motivating force for me was my father who earned his master’s degree just last year. He is an amazing example of what can be accomplished with dedication, discipline, and the age-old mantra of ‘never give up, even when the times get tough.’ This dream has become a reality!
Being the fourth out of five children, my brother and three sisters has all completed their degrees and working on their second. I always reminded myself that I will not break that chain of academic success. Also, I want this to serve as a motivation for my children as I always encourage them to get the most education and be an asset to society. I also appreciate my wife who stood my me during my time at Grantham.
