The University of Arkansas Grantham’s Associate of Applied Science in Healthcare Administration prepares students for industry specific entry level administrative roles in healthcare settings. The program develops foundational skills in healthcare management, reimbursement, and health information systems, including electronic health records and medical coding as well as legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements, the impact of technology and organizational practices.

To obtain this degree, I had to push through challenges and adversity, which required immense strength and determination. My journey towards completing my degree program at UA Grantham was not without obstacles, but I am proud of how I overcame them to achieve my academic goals. It has taught me the importance of perseverance, hard work, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Earning my AAS in Healthcare Administration was a journey of balancing full-time work and family life. There were many late nights studying after long shifts, and moments I questioned if I could truly do it. My biggest challenge was staying motivated when exhaustion set in. What kept me going were my children and significant other. My family always said, "Every small step forward is progress, no matter how tiny." That advice resonated deeply. It helped me break down overwhelming tasks into manageable pieces and celebrate every quiz passed or assignment completed. Knowing they believed in me made all the difference. Their constant encouragement helped me push through and achieve this huge goal.

Completing my degree was a journey of perseverance and resilience. There were times when balancing family, work, and school felt overwhelming, but I reminded myself daily why I started. I pushed through late nights of studying and moments of doubt by leaning on my faith in God, and the support of loved ones who encouraged me not to give up. My family's belief in me gave me the strength to keep going, and finish what I started.
